This year’s Display Committee has two goals. First, the committee is looking at ways to increase display (sale) space while maintaining an organized, uncluttered appearance. Secondly, it is investigating how to make sale space more equitable for all members. To meet these goals the committee will be implementing a few changes over the next few months; each change will be closely monitored to evaluate and assess its effectivness.
Stained Glass members may have already noticed one change. Items for sale are now limited to a one-year display time. In order to track that time, Display Committee members have been color coding the sales tickets based on the date the piece was originally displayed. Members will be notified when an item needs to be removed. By tracking how long an item has been for sale in the studio, more display space will become available on a regular basis.
The next notable upcoming change is one way the committee hopes to address the issue of giving all members the same opportunity to display and sell items through the club. A key point in this change is that only members of the Display Committee will tag items and put them on display. As with all changes, this procedure will be monitored and reviewed.
The procedure for displaying sales items in the studio beginning April 1, 2024, follows.
Submission Guidelines:
Additional changes will be coming to the wall, shelf and counter displays as options are investigated. Also, special considerations will be put into place prior to and after the fall craft fair.
As the Display Committee works through the different procedures, please remember that all changes will be monitored and evaluated as they are introduced.
