Policy Revision – Access Policy for
Golfers with Disabilities
The Access Policy for Golfer with Disabilities was up for revision in 2023. We’d like to give a big thank you to the Golf Operations Subcommittee as well as the Golf Committee for making changes to the policy to simplify the program and ensure better controls are in place to manage the policy. Below are the significant points/changes to the policy along with a link to review the policy in full.
1. All residents will be required to resubmit the appropriate documentation and obtain a new flag following Board Approval.
2. Residents obtaining a permanent Disability Flag will only be required to complete the initial paperwork and will not be required to reverify annually. Permanent Disability Flags will be permanent for the duration of said resident’s residency in Sun City Texas.
3. There will be new flag colors and only two different flags.
- Permanently Disabled Residents regardless of gender – Green Flags
- Temporarily Disabled Residents or Resident Guest – Orange Flags
4. A one-time non-refundable fee equal to the cost of the flag will be charged for each permanent disability flag issued.
5. A one-time non-refundable fee of $20 will be charged for each temporary disability flag issued.
6. When a permanent flag is issued, the correlating number on the flag will be registered within the Chelsea System to tie that flag with the flag holder.
7. When a temporary flag is issued, the correlating number on the flag will be registered within the Chelsea System to tie that flag with the flag holder. Additionally, a suspension date will also be registered in the Chelsea System that correlates with the duration of the stipulated temporary disability. The temporary flag must be returned prior to or on the expiration of the temporary disability to remove the suspension date from the Chelsea System. If the flag is not returned by said date, the resident’s access to the Chelsea System will be suspended until the flag is returned.
