Friendly Reminders: Parking

Submitted by Jim Romine, Executive Director, [email protected]

Here are a few friendly reminders when parking in one of our parking lots:

  1. Please do not park in the handicap parking spaces unless permitted to do so.
  2. When parking a golf cart, please remember two per space. The cart on the left should go all the way up to the tire stop and the cart on the right staggered back to allow easy entry and exit for both.
  3. With the demand for parking, please try to keep your auto to one space only.
  4. Van Accessible Handicap Parking: First I would like to thank those who respect and honor these handicap parking spots and only use them when properly permitted. For those who do have the handicap stickers/ placards, please do not park in the van accessible spaces unless you need the access aisle and leave these open for those who do need them.
  5. For additional information concerning driving, parking and the Texas Golf Cart Laws, please refer to page 22 of the SCT Resource Guide and Directory.

Jigsaw Junction Update

The puzzle exchange at Cowan Creek Amenity Center is no longer accepting donations for puzzles. Exchanges are allowed but we can not accept donations since all the shelves are full and our staff has made two trips to The Caring Place in the past two weeks with bags full of puzzles. We encourage residents to donate puzzles to assisted living facilities, Goodwill or The Caring Place. A message will be sent out to the community when we can accept donations again.

NEW! From Texas Disposal Systems

Effective February 2023, residents that register can have their Bulky Waste collection request (four free per year) picked up on their regularly scheduled trash day. No more Saturday collections!

Residents will be required to call in prior to their collection day and get a work order number for the Bulky Waste collection request. It will not be picked up without a work order number.
