Sun City Texas is honored to host this year’s Texas 5A and 6A High School Golf State Championships. Players, spectators and media will be present for the tournaments. Please use caution and drive slowly on Del Webb Boulevard and Sun City Boulevard. Volunteers wearing fluorescent vests will assist spectators crossing the streets.
During both two-day events, resident parking will not be available in the Legacy Hills parking lot to accommodate students, coaches and anyone in need of handicap-accessible parking. Resident parking will be available at the Social Center on Texas Drive for anyone who would like to attend the tournament. Driving golf carts and sharing parking lot spaces is highly encouraged.

For those who want to attend the tournament, please use the neighborhood roads to move around the golf course instead of the cart paths. With as many spectators as we have, extra cart traffic on the paths can be an issue and a distraction for players.

Friendly Reminder:
When to call Georgetown Police vs. Wilco Sheriff
Submitted by Jim Romine, Executive Director, [email protected]

I was recently asked by a resident when they should call the Georgetown Police or the Williamson County Sheriff’s office. My response was, if the situation/ matter is in the City of Georgetown, call the Police and if in the county, call the Sheriff. To ensure I was not missing something, I reached out to our Interim Police Chief Cory Tchida and his response was: “It really is that simple! We handle all law enforcement within the city limits and the sheriff handles law enforcement in the unincorporated areas of the county. Of course, the sheriff also has a responsibility to operate the county jail.”
NEW! Lost & Found Pet Alert System

The NRO, with the help of the Pet Club and our IT Department, has designed a Lost & Found Pet Alert System on the NRO and CA homepages.

Residents can choose to receive the email alerts that notify recipients when animals are missing or found by selecting "NRO Lost Pet Alerts" under your email preferences.

Volunteers will field all the incoming reports as well as send messages out to all residents that opt in to receive the NRO Lost Pet Alerts eblast. This is an exciting new program of neighbors helping neighbors get their pets back home!
Last day for Sun Rays
summer heat submissions!

During the hot Texas summers, many of us turn to air conditioning to stay comfortable. But locking oneself indoors is not the only option for beating the heat. Sun Rays wants to know: other than sitting in your air-conditioned home, how do you keep cool when the mercury rises? How did you keep cool before air conditioning? What are your time-tested methods for staying comfortable when the weather is anything but?

Tell us in 250 words or less and your submission may appear in the June issue of Sun Rays! Please send submissions to [email protected] no later than today, May 6 for consideration. Summertime photographs HIGHLY encouraged!
