Fitness Manager, Beth White

We would like to congratulate Beth White for accepting the role of Fitness Manager. With the new building coming in late 2022, adding three more group fitness studios and two more massage studios, changes need to be met ahead of the impact. Beth will do everything she does now with some added responsibilities, and she will eventually have a Group Fitness Coordinator under her management.

With the new studios in 2022, there will be times when nine classes will be going on simultaneously between three fitness centers. Beth is great at what she does, but she is only one person. Leslie has temporarily stepped up to help with group fitness schedules, class equipment issues and substitute information until we have a full-time coordinator hired by early 2022. Thank you so much, Leslie!

If you or someone else is interested in applying for the Group Fitness Coordinator position, please contact [email protected], Michelle Mason, Director of Fitness.

TIPS FROM THE TRAINERS
Strength isn’t measured in the amount of weight you can lift. It’s measured in the amount of weight you can lift while maintaining proper form and range of motion. Never sacrifice form for weight, and avoid cutting your range of motion short. If you feel your chosen weight is causing you to avoid a complete follow-through of your repetition, stop and lighten your load.

For example, if performing a standing dumbbell bicep curl, your body should not jerk to the side for you to fully complete the repetition. If this happens, lighten the load so you can sustain a neutral back and good posture when performing the exercise.

If you have any questions about proper form, see a Sun City personal trainer today!
From the current personal training staff: John Rutan, Allison Worley, Michelle Dwyer, Brendi Middleton, Mike Stuchl, Byron Goff, Judy Baier and Cyndi Gipson.
