Street Maintenance Update

The City has provided an updated list of streets that were rescheduled due to inclement weather. The Monday, Oct. 11 through Friday, Oct. 15 schedule is weather dependent and the City will update the CA should any changes occur.

Austin Avenue lane closure

The outside, southbound lane on Austin Avenue will be closed at Seventh and Eighth streets for a sidewalk accessibility project. The lane is expected to be closed three to four weeks.

Wildlife Committee Meeting - Virtual

Friendly Reminder:
Pedestrians, Runners & Bicyclists

Whether you are out jogging, walking your dog or taking a stroll, make sure that you can be seen while walking at night. Always be alert to traffic and NEVER assume that a car sees you. Wear bright reflective clothing; a reflective vest is a good investment. Be especially alert when walking or running during the dusk or dawn hours. Bicyclists too - use your lights!
CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

Snow may be a rarity in Central Texas, but many residents can still recall living in places where winter always came with heaps of snow. If you remember hitting the slopes, shoveling the walk or taking three hours to get ready to go outside, send your story to Sun Rays by Wednesday, Oct. 27 and it may appear in our December issue!

Please send your snowy submissions (300 words or less) to Britt James at [email protected] . Photographs are strongly encouraged. If you have any questions or require assistance with photography, contact Britt James at 512-948-7732.

Native Area Maintenance

Beginning Monday, Oct. 11, the proposed neighborhood order of maintenance is listed below. Neighborhoods in the North Point section of the community that are not listed, have not been turned over to the Community Association.

Although most of this process can be handled by our mowers, there are some areas that are less accommodating and will need to be handled with line trimmers. The line trimmers can be two weeks or more behind the mowers. All trimmings will be left where they fall. This is a Firewise exercise only, and not for aesthetic or any other purpose.
