Golf Course Maintenance Update

We will end construction on Legacy Hills after holes 10 and 11 are complete. We will not complete holes 3 and 18 in 2021.  Our contractor did everything possible to maintain labor during the process. Unfortunately, with the difficulties in acquiring labor throughout the nation, we were not exempt from the same misfortune. In addition to the contractor’s efforts, we reached out to two additional contractors to either come take over the job or assist the original contractor in completing the project. We knew this may include additional funding. Below we have listed the two bids:

Construction Co. #1 – Would require additional funds of $70k to complete the job.
Construction Co. #2 – Would require an additional $60k at $15k per week with an estimated completion time of four weeks, but without a guarantee. We contact their references and though they do great work, we were told the production time is slow. This would likely result in additional funds over the quoted $60k. Far too much risk.

We were left with two options.

Option 1: Continue construction with an additional contractor at the expense and risk of Sun City residents and their funds.

Option 2: Discontinue construction and only pay for the two holes completed. The only loss we experience is time.

As Directors for the Sun City Texas Community Association, it is our responsibility to protect the residents of Sun City and their funds. We felt there was too much risk and additional funding which was not in the best interest of our residents. We plan to complete four holes next year; holes 2, 3, 4 and 18. If you have any questions, please email [email protected] to contact Zac Seith.

Disposing of Waste on
the Golf Courses

We have noticed an increase in cigarette butts left behind on the golf courses. Please, ensure that you dispose of all waste properly. Help us maintain the oasis that is your golf facility.
Thank you for your assistance!
