Golf Cart Parking Spaces       Poisonous Mushrooms Deadly to Pets

GOLF CARTS ONLY -

As our activities resume and our parking lots fill up, please remember NOT to park your car in a golf cart parking space. There is not adequate space for cars to fit in these spaces and vehicles end up sticking out into traffic.

Further, there are almost always plenty of parking spaces for automobiles in our lots, so please leave the golf cart parking spaces for those with golf carts. Or, better yet, drive your golf cart if you want to park in those areas. Thanks in advance for your help with this request.
It has been brought to the CA’s attention that due to the rain/ wet conditions we have had over the last couple of months, poisonous mushrooms are appearing in flower beds within the community. These poisonous mushrooms can be deadly to your pets and may give off a scent that could attract your pet to smell, touch or possibly eat them.

We know of at least one dog that ate one of these mushrooms, became very ill, was hospitalized for days and whose liver is being treated at this time. The vet said the toxins in these mushrooms affect the liver and if medical care is not immediately given, the animal could die.

Please keep an eye out for mushrooms in your landscaped beds and carefully remove without touching. Further, if you have pets, do not allow them to come in contact with the mushrooms.
Brick Installation Moved to August
The Georgetown-Williamson County Veterans Memorial Plaza brick vendor has informed us that bricks scheduled to be delivered and installed in July will now happen in late August. Vendors are short-staffed and are challenged with hiring new help and acquiring materials.

The Georgetown-Williamson County Veterans Memorial was built to honor the men and women who served in our military forces during the 200-plus years of our country's history. Today Veterans Memorial Plaza is embedded with more than 3,600 engraved bricks!
Please Do Not Use the CA Dumpsters
Residents and contractors should not be using any of the CA dumpsters - these are only to be used by the CA or for events scheduled with the CA. Contractors should never use our dumpsters and should use facilities off-site.

Schedule a Free Pickup at 512-930-3640
Residents can contact the city two times a year to schedule a free pickup of household goods they would like discarded. This contact number is on your monthly utility billing statement as well.

If you fill up our bins, we cannot properly clean up after events. Also, if the dumpsters cannot be reached by the dump trucks, the bins will NOT be emptied at all. Drivers are not allowed to exit their trucks to pick up trash - and they should not have to do so.
Native Area Maintenance

Today we are moving forward with the concerted push on the line trimmers. We plan to complete Phase 1 mowing next week. All cuttings will be left where they fall. This is a Firewise exercise only, and not for aesthetic or any other purpose.

Please review the proposed neighborhood order of maintenance. Highlighted neighborhoods have been mowed.

City of Georgetown begins street maintenance projects this summer

Street resurfacing projects, including a high-performance surface seal treatment and hot-in-place recycling, will be completed throughout the summer.

The work schedule can be affected by weather conditions, mechanical issues and product availability. Visit transportation.georgetown.org/2021-street-maintenance-projects for updates on the paving schedule and a complete list of projects.

Enjoy Georgetown Arts & Culture
Georgetown is one of the fastest growing cities in the entire country. The cultural arts sector is taking off as a result of that population growth. Arts and culture organizers bring the architecture and history of the area to life, curate thought-provoking art exhibits and events, create magical theatre experiences and organize concerts that inspire.

Georgetown’s Cultural District overlaps the historic downtown Square and its many wonderful restaurants, wineries, galleries, boutique retail and much more. The City’s public art program also makes the Georgetown Cultural District unique. Several murals can be viewed throughout the downtown.
