No Watering Mondays
The City has a year-round, two-day per week watering schedule for irrigation systems and hose-end sprinklers.

The two-day schedule spreads watering over six days each week in order to balance demand on the water system.

Irrigation is not permitted on Mondays. Mondays are a maintenance and recovery day for the water system.

The year-round, two-day per week irrigation schedule is based on the last digit of the street address.

Community Dog Stations: Clean up after your pet
Be sure to clean up after your dog. There are community dog stations throughout the community for pet waste. No other type of trash should be deposited in these stations. Thank you for keeping Sun City beautiful!
Avoid Scams

The Georgetown Police Department provides the following information. For more crime prevention and safety tips, including charity scams, identity theft, personal safety and travel scams visit their website HERE.

For more information or to file a report with the Georgetown Police Department, call 512-930-3510.

Below is a list of the most popular scams that you should be familiar with so that you can spot them. Remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!

1. Medicare/health insurance scams: Perpetrators of these scams pose as Medicare representatives to get your personal information. Never give personal information away to strangers. If you think it is a legitimate call, get their name and call the company back using the phone number you have on file. Don't use the number the caller gives you.

2. Counterfeit prescription drugs: Paying for fake drugs that can harm your body, not just your wallet.

3. Funeral and cemetery scams: Scammers prey on kin and claim the deceased had an outstanding debt.

4. Fraudulent anti-aging products: These can range from fake Botox or homeopathic remedies that do nothing.

5. Telemarketing/phone scams: This is the most common scheme because it is hard to trace. Scammers get the victim to trust them by preying on their emotions. Never give them credit card numbers.

6. Internet fraud: Targets users to download malicious software at a cost that may allow scammers to copy files or steal personal information.

7. Investment schemes: Investment schemes that steal the money rather than safeguard it. Pyramid schemes like Bernie Madoff's or a "prince" from a foreign country looking for a partner to claim inheritance money.

8. Homeowner/reverse mortgage scams: These scams come in the form of elaborate letters or phone calls from companies that will charge a fee to reassess the property value of the home to lower the property taxes.

9. Sweepstakes and lottery scams: Victims have been informed that they have won a lottery or sweepstakes and need to make a payment to unlock the "prize."

10. The grandparent scam: A call is placed to an older person and the scammer will tell them that a family member needs money for an unexpected financial problem (late rent, car repairs, bail money, etc.).

And remember, Courts will not let you post bail with gift cards. This has become such a problem that store clerks are trained to ask people why they are purchasing gift cards, especially if someone is buying a large quantity of them.
Friendly Reminder:
Empty your trash
All parties reserving rooms are responsible for returning the facility to the condition in which it was provided. Please help us keep your facilities clean by taking out your trash and recyclables to the dumpsters after your meeting, class, game or social event.

Please contact Cindy Marsac at [email protected] if you have any questions.
Watch your mailbox! NEW 2021-2022 Directory
The next edition of the Sun City Texas Resource Guide & Directory will be delivered to your mailbox July 7-9.
What do I do with my old Directory?
Once your new Directory arrives, please deposit your old Directory in the blue bin located across from the tennis courts at 2 Texas Drive. The Community Association shreds these books to protect your privacy.
Remember, the blue bin is only to be used for disposal of old Sun City Texas Resident Directories.
Behind the Brick Submissions: Deadline July 26!
If you have ever purchased a brick or have been honored by one, tell us the story Behind the Brick. Include the name, unit, ship or organization of the honoree. Stories will be featured in Sun Rays’ Behind the Brick series.

Please limit submissions to 500 words or less. Photographs are highly encouraged. Send stories to [email protected] by Monday, July 26 to be featured in fall/winter 2021.

All questions can be directed to Jaime Calder at 512-948-7745.
Native Area Maintenance

The maintenance teams are continuing to make good progress. Although most of this process can be handled by our mowers, there are some areas that are less accommodating and will need to be handled with line trimmers. Next Friday, July 9, we are planning a concerted push on the line trimmers. All cuttings will be left where they fall. This is a Fire Wise exercise only, and not for aesthetic or any other purpose.

Please review the proposed neighborhood order of maintenance. Highlighted neighborhoods have been mowed.
