Friendly Reminder: Service Animal Rule
Submitted by Jim Romine, Executive Director, [email protected]
I was recently asked what the rule is for animals in our facilities and below I've included our Rules and Regulations that address this question. Unless the animal is trained to assist a disabled person, they should not be in any CA facilities. Please help us comply with this rule for everyone’s enjoyment of our facilities.

VI. Rules for Community Association Facilities (From our Rules and Regulations)
No person shall permit a domestic pet or other animal to enter a Community Association facility, with the exception of animals trained to assist disabled persons who are under the direct control of such person.
Community Standards: Drone Use Policy
Paragraph F of Section V of the Rules and Regulations outlines the restrictions on drone use in Sun City Texas.

Drones must be flown within visual sight of the person operating it. Drones must weigh less than 15 pounds. Drones must always be operated in accordance with the Academy of Model Aeronautics safety code and Sun City Radio Control Modelers safety guidelines.

Drones may not be used to harass, disturb or breach the peaceful use of any resident’s home. Drones may not be used for surveillance of residents or their home. Drones that have the capability of obtaining high-resolution photographs and/or video, or using any types of sensors for the collection, retention or dissemination of surveillance data information on individuals, homes, businesses or property at locations where there is a reasonable expectation of privacy is strictly prohibited in Sun City Texas.

Questions and concerns can be emailed to [email protected] for Carl Zimmerman, Community Standards Director or call 512-948-6243.

Cast Your Vote!
Annual Summer Show
People's Choice Award
For 13 years, Georgetown Public Library has hosted the Texas Society of Sculptors’ annual summer show. The competitive, juried exhibit is a popular tradition in Georgetown that includes sculptures throughout the building on both the first and second floors. Participating sculptors from across the state work in wood, glass, bronze, ceramics and more. Most pieces in the exhibit are available for purchase.

This year’s exhibit will last through Friday, September 17, 2021. The show includes a People’s Choice Award decided by library visitors, who cast votes for their favorite three pieces out of the entire show.
To cast a vote, pick up a ballot in the library’s lobby and place it in the ballot box no later than 5 p.m. Saturday, July 31. The sculptor of the piece with the most votes will be awarded the People’s Choice Award and a cash prize at a reception in the library at 1 p.m. Sunday, August 15.
