Facilities & City of Georgetown Update
February 23, 2021
Construction at Activity Center on Feb. 24.

Due to the freezing weather, pipes burst in several facilities including the Activity Center at 1 Texas Drive. The MR1,2,3,4 (Meeting Rooms) and GR 1,2,3 (Game Rooms) will be under construction starting tomorrow, Feb. 24 until further notice. The ACA (Atrium) and CyberCenter (including the Computer Lab) will not be under construction and both are still available for clubs to use that have approved transition plans.

Residents that are using the CyberCenter and the ACA at the Activity Center please remember that construction noise is generally unavoidable. We hope that this isn’t too much of an inconvenience, and we thank you for your understanding!

Message from the City of Georgetown

The City of Georgetown will be doing a citywide sweep of brush pickup service starting tomorrow, Feb. 24. Residents do not need to bundle or cut down. You may also use the paper lawn bags and personal yard waste containers. This is for yard waste only - branches, shrubs, limbs, leaves, etc. No metal, rocks, glasses, plastics!

Brush needs to be at curbside in the right of way as the workers are not allowed to come on private property. Should you have questions, there will be a city staff employee with each crew. With trucks working in the 5 sections of town and depending on where they start along with the amount of brush to collect, it could be a day or so before they make your street.

The brush collected will be taken to the Georgetown Transfer Station and processed into mulch that is available to the City of Georgetown residents.
