Message from City of Georgetown Police Department

  • We understand everyone is frustrated and wants updated information related to the ongoing winter storm and resulting power outages. We haven't seen temperatures like this in more than 30 years, and our crews are doing everything we can to restore your power, respond to emergencies, and keep people safe. Please only call 911 if you are experiencing an emergency as our lines are being overwhelmed. Emergencies requiring 911 assistance include:
    • Injury
    • Health issue
    • Fire
    • Emergency shelter

Message from the Hiking Trail Maintenance Team

  • Use Caution on Trails and Sidewalks. If you dare brave this cold and icy weather that we're experiencing, please use CAUTION while using the trails and sidewalks in our community. There's been many reports of damages. And we've all seen the downed trees, tree limbs, and icy paths on both the sidewalks and trails. If venturing outdoors be sure to watch your step.
    • Watch for ice on the sidewalks and trails.
    • Don't continue on the trail if there are downed trees and limbs
    • And if you hear cracking sound- watch out it might be a limb coming down.
  • The CA and Brightview crews will handle the initial work that may need to be performed to clear areas. And then the Hiking Club Trail Maintenance Team will do what we can. So please be patient and use caution to prevent any injuries. Please remind your friends and neighbors too.
