Interested in joining a Walking League ?
We would like to begin a walking league in March once Daylight Savings begins. The goal is to have a weekly league that begins at 3 p.m. or 4 p.m. in a single tee format. To begin, this will just be a friendly league without competition. Please send an email to Erik Beyer at [email protected] if you are interested or have any questions.
Practice Facility 'Best Practices'
The practice facilities, as we all know, can take a beating. There are some things that the individual player can do when practicing to assist the turf with a better and quicker recovery. Please click here to see a short video on practice facility etiquette.
Accessing GHIN
The GHIN System now requires a unique email address for each golfer to be able to login to the GHIN.com handicap system. Most golfers currently in the system have an email included in their profile but if you don't, you'll need to contact Erik Beyer at Legacy Hills,[email protected] or call 512-948-7563. The new requirements also involve golfers creating a password to login. The steps to accomplish this are as follows:
Type in your GHIN number or email address, leave the password blank
Click on the "Forgot Password" link at the bottom of the page
Follow the instructions to obtain a link that will be emailed to you so that you can set up a password.
9 Holes vs. 18 Holes
Please ensure that during check-in, you are conveying to the starter whether you plan to play 18 or nine holes that day. If you sign up for 18 and only play nine holes for some reason, please contact the golf shop the same day to inform them of the change. This will help reduce potential mistakes to resident’s accounts. Thank you for your assistance.
Starter Huts now being added to all three courses
As many of you have seen, the new Starter Huts are currently being built at all three courses. We will be receiving the front service windows mid-month due to delays in delivery. Once installed, check-in for play will be performed at the front window of the Huts. There will be a Starter Hut at #1 & #10 at Legacy Hills and White Wing, and Cowan Creek will have one located at the turn. Please stay tuned and we’ll let you know when the windows are open. Thank you!
Golf Course Etiquette
The golf courses are in excellent shape and primed for the Spring growing season. To maintain excellent conditions year-round it is the responsibility of all players, residents and resident guests, to help take care of the golf courses and perform the necessary tasks to repair turf. Please make sure that you have sand and a divot tool with you so you can leave the golf courses in the best condition possible for the players behind you. Please see the videos below from the USGA.

Disability Flag Holders and the
Two Cart Rule
We’ve had a number of inquiries as to how the “Two Carts off the Path Rule” applies to disability flag holders. Disability flag holders are not exempt from the two cart rule. Disability flag holders retain all allowances granted with the flag but must adhere to the “Two Carts off the Path Rule” as do all other players. If you have any questions, please direct them to Josh Lockhart at [email protected]
