COVID-19 Vaccine Update

Williamson County officials submitted the county's COVID-19 vaccination distribution plan to the Texas Department of State Health Services. This plan includes Sun City Texas Ballroom as a hub for distribution. Williamson County is hoping to receive approval from the Texas Department of State Health Services by Monday, Jan. 18. The dates, quantities and qualifications have not been provided to us at this time. As soon as the details are provided, then the information will be provided to the community. Sign-up will happen when dates and quantities are known. The plan is to have designated time slots so residents are not waiting in long lines.

While waiting for more local information, here is COVID-19 Vaccine information:
  • Do not show up at a hospital or clinic looking for a vaccine. Instead please check their website for information about vaccine availability. Call if their website doesn’t answer your questions.
  • Vaccine supply is limited (but more arrives every week) and it will take time to vaccinate all.
  • COVID-19 Vaccine Hub Providers: click here
  • Phase 1B: Please check the website of vaccine providers listed on the Texas COVID‑19 Vaccine Availability map to see if they have enough vaccine supply at this time.

Exploiting the Coronavirus: Watch Out for “New” Vaccine and COVID-19 Data

With new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) being recorded daily and people seeking vaccine information, the bad guys know people are afraid and they plan to exploit that fear. They are sending phishing emails claiming to have official “new” or “updated” data on COVID-19 or vaccine information in your area. These emails are intense, urgent and are designed to spark a knee-jerk reaction. Don’t fall victim to their scare tactics!

Remember the following to protect yourself:
  • Think before you click. The scammers are expecting an impulsive click.
  • Never click a link or attachment from an email you weren’t expecting.
  • Stay informed by going directly to a trusted news source for information.

We must remind all residents that tampering with, interfering with, or damaging the nets; or purposely hindering this activity, is protected by Texas law. It is a Class B misdemeanor which is punishable by up to 180 days in jail, a fine of as much as $2,000 or both.

We will be making every effort to carry out this activity as quickly and smoothly as is possible. Should you have any questions, we encourage you to contact the Wildlife Management Committee at [email protected] or attend our virtual Monthly Meeting at 3 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month.
