Correction to Future Amenity Site Update Eblast
Issued on September 30, 2020

In the eblast there is an error in the year.

It said, “The site construction plans referred to in Pulte’s announcement on September 21, 2021, must be approved by the City of Georgetown any formal or detailed information can be provided to the community.”

The sentence should read, “The site construction plans referred to in Pulte’s announcement on September 21, 2020, must be approved by the City of Georgetown before any formal or detailed information can be provided to the community.”

Appointments
Appointments are STRONGLY encouraged. The CA staff is working combined shifts at home and in the office to limit capacity in the office. Those with appointments will have PRIORITY for service. Residents without appointments will be supported on a space-available basis.

When residents with appointments arrive, you will need to call the staff member with whom you have the appointment to let them know you have arrived. CA Staff will meet you at the building entrance near the Member Services’ Office after your call from your cell phone.

The Community Standards Customer Service Office in the Social Center Building will be limited to one resident at a time.

Communication and Lifestyle doors will remain locked. The monitor will call the employee when a guest has arrived. Employees will exit the office space and meet with guests in the lobby area.

Services not offered at this time
  • Notary services
  • Copies/Faxes
  • In-person ticket sales (only online or phone call with a credit card)
  • Lost and Found pick-up
  • Vendor referral book
  • Cash transactions (only credit card or member charges at this time)
To serve you better and avoid lines and appointments, a locked box has been placed at the Social Center Monitor's desk for you to drop off items for Accounting, Chartered Clubs Support Services, Member Services and the Community Standards office. The box will be available during building hours and placed behind locked doors at the end of the evening. Please make sure items are in a sealed envelope so that back-up documentation does not get mixed with other requests.
Effective Monday, Oct. 5

Tell the Story of the Person "Behind the Brick"
You’ve probably seen the many bricks which fill the Veterans Memorial Plaza located in the heart of Sun City. Since its dedication in 2003, over 4,300 bricks honoring servicemen and women have been placed within this plaza. But with room for only 48 letters, numbers and spaces on the brick, the words can only tell a fraction of the honorees’ stories. Sun Rays would like to tell the rest.

If you have ever purchased or been honored by a brick, tell us the story behind the name, unit, ship or organization inscribed. Stories will be featured in Sun Rays’ “Behind the Brick” series. Submissions should be no more than 500 words, and photographs are highly encouraged. Sun Rays will be happy to document awards, medals and other ephemera upon request. Please send your stories to [email protected] by Friday, Oct. 16 to be featured in 2021. All questions can be directed to Jaime Calder via email or call 512-948-7745.
Masks and Social Distancing Outdoors

Please carry a mask for those times when you are not able to keep six feet of physical distance between you and people that are not in your household. This is especially important to remember when walking the hiking trails, sidewalks and when outside with others in potentially close proximity.

Blue Santa Donation Event
The Georgetown Police Department and the Citizens Police Academy Alumni will host their Blue Santa Drive-Thru donation event in Sun City.

  • Saturday, Oct. 3
  • 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
  • Cowan Creek Pavilion

This event provides residents an opportunity to contribute toward helping meet the needs of children for this upcoming Christmas season. It is anticipated demand may be larger this year than ever before and donations are crucial to meeting the need.

Monetary donations in lieu of new unwrapped toys are encouraged this year in order to help limit the handling of items and sanitation necessary to protect Santa’s elves. Monetary donations will also allow more toys to be purchased in bulk buys which stretch the dollars further and help focus the supply of gifts to the specific ages needed.

Please drive through and handoff your donation to help children in need to enjoy a brighter Christmas. Please make donations in the form of cash or check, with checks payable to “Georgetown Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni Association” or (“CPAAA”), a 501c3 organization.
