December 7, 2017 White Wing Golf Club Grand Reopening Ceremony Georgetown, Texas—The White Wing Golf Club is back in full swing, and we’re celebrating the grand reopening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. On December 15, 2017 at 12:15 p.m. White Wing Golf Club will celebrate its reopening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony held at 151 Dove Hollow Trail in Georgetown. The event includes refreshments, giveaways and a presentation of the improvements. Golfers are encouraged to book a tee time and try out the course. We are open to the public.
The Sun City Texas golf staff is thrilled to show off the improvements to the course following a summer-long renovation focused on preserving the current structure of the course while improving the pace of play and adding greater focus on practice amenities and on having fun. Some of the improvements include additional forward tees, a wider play area, ease of maintenance, cart traffic and drainage.
“We could not be more pleased with the transformation that has taken place on White Wing over the last year,” said Gary Wilson, Director of Golf at Sun City Texas. “As promised, the course provides golfers of all skill levels an exceptional golf experience that both our resident members and the public will enjoy for years to come.” Sun City Texas Resident Tom Giallonardo shared a similar sentiment, “Love the changes. The course is visually stunning and feels more open without taking away the inherent challenges. The fairways and greens are in the best condition I've seen since moving here in 2011.”
Fry/Straka Global Golf Course Design was commissioned by the Sun City Texas Community Association to lead the course enhancement and renovation project which began in 2016. Once plans were defined, Mid-America Golf and Landscape was selected to carry out construction on the project.
