They headed north from Caldwell Flats on April 1, 1866. Trail boss Thornton Chisholm, a handful of cowboys and 1,800 rangy Texas Longhorns would make a seven-month journey along what would become one of the most storied names in The West, The Chisholm Trail. Explore stories of cowboys, cattle queens, gunslingers and gamblers as we make our way along the trail to Fort Worth – Where the West Begins.

Tuesday - Our adventure begins with the movie, Texas – The Big Picture,  followed by a walk on the historic Chisholm Trail Bridge in Waco. Legends, lore and a picnic lunch will take us to the Gone With The Wind Remembered Museum in Cleburne and a tour of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing in Fort Worth.

Wednesday - Take a docent-guided driving tour of the historic Fort Worth Stockyards District, watch the Fort Worth Longhorn herd make their drive down Exchange Avenue, explore the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame and the National Cowgirl Museum, and finish with a boot scootin' visit to Billy Bob's Texas Honky-Tonk.

Thursday - Gunslingers and gamblers take us to the Fort Worth Water Garden, once the home of Hell's Half Acre, and the Texas Civil War Museum before we saddle up and head back down the trail…wahoo…what a ride!
