Depart SCPL 9 a.m.; return 6 p.m. Tickets for this event go on sale on Thursday, June 1 @ 8 a.m. Our day will begin with a drive through Texas hill country to the charming German town of Fredericksburg. We will arrive at the Marketplatz (Market Place) on Main Street where you will find yourself surrounded by a wide selection of restaurants and shoppes for lunch on your own. Maps and restaurant tips and suggestions will be provided. After lunch we will board the bus for the short trip to the Fredericksburg Theater for the matinee performance of The Marvelous Wonderettes, a cotton-candied colored musical trip down memory lane to the 1958 Springfield High School prom where we meet four girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts. The show follows the lives and loves of Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy and Suzy from prom night to their 10-year reunion. The score highlights over 20 chart-topping hits of the era, including Lollipop, Son of a Preacher Man, Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me; and It’s My Party. You will not want to miss this one!
