Pre-Memorial Day Evening Band Concert

The 36th Infantry Division Band from Camp Mabry in Austin will present a concert at 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 28. The band will perform a variety of big band sounds and patriotic “flag waving” tunes.
Memorial Day Ceremony
Monday, May 29 • 9:30 a.m.
This special day we will honor the men and women of our armed forces who
have given their lives in service to our country and for our freedom.
The annual Memorial Day Ceremony will be held on Monday, May 29 at 9:30 a.m. at the Georgetown-Williamson County Veterans Memorial Plaza. This special day will honor the men and women of our armed forces who gave their lives in service to our country and our freedom.
The guest speaker will be U.S. Representative John Carter, representing Texas' 31st Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives and Chairman of the Homeland Security Subcommittee. Music will be provided by the 36th Infantry Division Band of the Texas Army National Guard.
The program begins with a massing of colors involving color guards from East View and Georgetown High Schools, the Georgetown Fire Department, and the Williamson County EMS. The ceremony also includes singing of the national anthem, presentation of wreaths at both Memorial Walls, and sounding of taps.
Seven-hundred folding chairs will be placed at the Memorial. Guests are also invited to bring folding chair(s) to sit under the trees. The Community Association will serve refreshments on the Social Center patio after the ceremony on May 29.
In case of rain:
The event(s) will be held in the Social Center Ballroom and seating will be limited to 600 to comply with fire code.

If you would like to honor a veteran by adding an engraved brick to the
Georgetown-Williamson County Veterans Memorial Plaza, bricks can be
ordered through the CA Member Services Office or online at www.sctexas.org/VeteransMemorialPlaza. Contributions support the care and maintenance of the Plaza.
