Introduction to Copper Foil

This course gives students hands-on experience in creating stained glass panels using the copper foil (Tiffany) method, explains all the studio equipment and how it operates, and the safety procedures of the Club.

The course is taught in 5 sessions, 3 per week for 2 weeks; class hours are from 3:30-6:30 PM.  Check class dates before registering, because ....

It is very important that students attend every session, to learn all the necessary steps to create your project.   You probably will need to come to the Studio between class sessions to finish some of the steps before the next session.

If you miss 2 or more sessions, you will not learn all the techniques needed to complete your project.  If you must miss a session, talk to the instructors about getting remedial help during normal Studio hours (Monday-Friday, 9am-3pm).   If you need to cancel after registration but before class has started, email the Stained Glass Club immediately

Since all tools, glass & supplies are provided, you can check out creating stained glass with little investment.

What you will learn:
•    Lay out the pattern (15-20 pieces on the pattern)
•    Cutting the glass to fit the pattern
•    Grinding the glass edges to fit the pattern exactly
•    Placing copper foil around each piece of glass
•    Soldering the glass pieces together
•    Framing the project using came saws.
•    Adding patina and polish to finish the project.
