Hey, members! Our Sun City Photo Club Summer Challenge opens June 15!

How it works:

  • This is not a competition! It's a chance to learn and practice your skills.
  • Any SCPC Photo Club member can participate. No special equipment needed!
  • During the challenge period (June 15 through August 31, 2022), choose 6 of the 10 categories below; take a picture that fits the category, and submit your photo to the Summer Challenge Dropbox folder.
  • Attend the September General Meeting (September 21) when a drawing for a $25 Mulligans gift card will take place from the list of people who participated in the challenge.
  • Rules are in the small print below.

  • Photos should be submitted in .jpg format
  • Minimum size: 1200 pixels on the long edge. There is no maximum size
  • Name your photos as follows:

(Dropbox will append your name to the file name)
  • Upload your photos to Dropbox by midnight on August 31, 2022:
    https://www.dropbox.com/request/6yev1FGmZMy25aoJ3Nl0

Rules: (i.e. the small print)

  1. Photos must be taken between the dates June 15, 2022 and August 31, 2022
  2. Photos must be uploaded to the Dropbox folder by midnight, August 31, 2022
  3. Participants must submit at least 6 photos from the categories above
  4. Participants may not submit more than 1 photo per category
  5. Photographs must show a good effort on the part of the photographer to meet the description of the category
  6. Photographs submitted to the challenge Dropbox folder will be visible to anyone with a link to that folder after September 21st. That includes people who aren't members of the Photo Club and people who don't even live in Sun City. If you don't want someone to download your photo and create a big gorgeous piece of wall art from it, just submit photo that's on the small end of the size scale (closer to the size of 1200 pixels on the long edge). That way it won't look very good if someone tries to create a big print from it.
  7. This is just for fun. Really. Yes, there's a prize, but the point of this event is for our members enjoy the summer and maybe learn something. We don't want anyone to get bent out of shape if their name isn't drawn on September 21st. Please adhere to the rules to help make this a good experience for everyone.
