Transitional Guidelines for the ILLC Classroom (subject to accessibility)

Transitional Guidelines – Direction Document

International Languages Learning Club

This document spells out the General and Operational Guidelines to be in effect during the transitional period as Stay at Home orders are eased.

Any participant not willing to agree to the Guidelines will not be able to attend events in Room 3.  Alternate participation, such as ZOOM, may be available.

General Guidelines

All participants attending International Learning events of any kind will be deemed to have agreed to:

1.   NOT attend classes if they have any symptoms or exposure risks as listed by the CDC guidelines.

2.   Maintain 6' social distancing while anywhere inside the Activity Center.

3.   Disinfect the table and chair at which she/he is seated and any other item in the classroom which she/he has touched before and after seating.

Operational Guidelines

1.   To provide time to sanitize Room 3 and for participants to enter and exit safely, all activities will be scheduled for 30 minutes longer than they will run.

2.   All surfaces that were used during each activity will be disinfected between each scheduled meeting. This includes not only tables and chairs, but also AV equipment, key and lock box, door handles, etc. Disinfectant wipes as well as hand sanitizer will be provided in the Activity Center by the CA.

3.   Each instructor will have her/his own markers and erasers provided personally or by the Club.

4.   Hallways will be marked to encourage students to maintain 6 feet of social distancing when waiting to enter the room.

5.   The number of participants in the room at one time will not exceed 7.

6.   Only one person at a time can sit at each table. Tables and seating will be staggered to provide a distance of more than 6'. Each "seating position" will be designated and not subject to being moved.

7.   Attendance will be visually taken by the instructor; no "signing in".

8.   The wearing of masks is mandatory to and from the classroom and when not speaking in the classroom. However, masks may be removed when speaking/practicing individually or as a group.

9.   Instructors will email lesson materials before each class to the students to be printed at home and brought to class.

Throughout the shutdown, ILLC leadership has been communicating with Club Members through Club President Liz Stewart to assure them that the Club Board is making plans to resume Club activities as soon as possible in the safest and healthiest possible way.

We recognize that because of underlying health concerns, some members will not feel comfortable in returning to in-person sessions. In order to accommodate those ILLC members, we will continue to offer language classes utilizing Zoom.
