End of Year Message from Golf
Dear Residents,

The Sun City Golf Staff would like to convey our appreciation to the community for your support throughout the year. It’s an honor to work in Sun City Texas. A lot happens in a calendar year and Sun City is no exception. The support from the community cannot be overstated.

The support from the Adopt-a-Hole members needs a special nod. Your dedication to Sun City's golf courses and assistance in turf management is greatly appreciated by not only the staff, but by all the golfers here in Sun City.

We must also tip our hat to the competitive golfers that grace our courses and golf shops on a weekly basis. To the 1,080 members of the WGA, MGA & CGA that make up the backbone of our golf operations, a big thank you for your support! The game of golf depends on the continued development of junior golf and with your help we are able to provide the youth of the State of Texas an incredible experience. We had over 140 volunteers for the UIL State Championships this year. Your service makes the event a wonderful experience and it means so much to the players, parents and schools to see your support and generosity.

Our efforts in providing residents with the best golfing experience possible is due in large part to the support and efforts of the Golf Committee. A special thanks to the members of 2019 and incoming members for 2020:
Jerry Kupperman
Tom Charbeneau
Ken Taylor
Michael Noyce
Clay Stubbins
Phil Klempay
Paula Elmers
Randy Sigley
Judi Barron
Mike Pender
Brian Riley
Ken Morrison

Ron Ricks
Our compliments must also be given to the Men’s, Women’s and Couples Golf Association who did a phenomenal job this year providing fun Play Days and excellent Major Tournaments. A Special congratulations is necessary to this year’s Club Champions:

MGA 18 Hole – Brian Riley
WGA 18 Hole – Kathy Goodall
CGA 18 Hole – Tommy & Mindy Mullins
MGA 9 Hole – John Hudson
WGA 9 Hole – Christina Schwerdtfeger
CGA 9 Hole  Bill & Sandra Ashbaugh

We have a lot in store for you this year from new tournaments such as the Lights Out tournament and Reverse Par 3. We will also be trying out some new events that bring together multiple sports while continuing some of our staples like the Chili Bowl golf tournament to be hosted on January 25th. For those non-golfing residents, we have some good news coming your way in the way of consistent golf course access. Please stand by for more information.

We will have a new Golf Course Maintenance Facebook page coming your way that will host frequent updates on what’s going on with your courses and will be interactive in case you have questions about any of your golf facilities. In June, we’re looking forward to beginning the next phase of renovations to the Legacy Hills golf course. We will also have two new staff members dedicated to special projects on all three golf courses.

We look forward to seeing each one of you in 2020 and have a great New Year!

Thank you again and our doors are always open,
Your Sun City Texas Golf Staff
