Subject: Pickleball Court Update

 Special Board Communicator
The Community Association Board of Directors appreciates all the feedback received about the potential future expansion of pickleball courts in the community. There is a lot of conflicting information being distributed throughout the community so we would like to make everyone aware of what steps have taken place so far and the process going forward.

After several meetings with the Expansion Task Force, Pickleball Club and CA Staff, Pulte has decided to fund the construction of an eight-pickleball court complex in the community. After further discussions, it was determined the two best possible locations would be either Cowan Creek Amenity Center or the North side of the Legacy Hills Pavilion parking lot (adjacent to Del Webb Blvd.). These two locations were determined based on their central location, distance from existing homes and existing parking and restroom availability.

Both locations were presented to Property and Grounds to review and to provide pro’s and con’s for each location. Based on the information provided by Property and Grounds, Pulte has hired a Land Planner and an Engineer to study both sites and to determine the best location for the courts.

The newly tagged trees at Legacy Hills Park were surveyed to provide information to the Land Planner so they can make sure the courts are constructed with the least impact to the park and existing trees.  If a tree is tagged, it does not mean it will be removed.

Once the concept plans are complete, they will be presented to Property and Grounds for their recommendation before it goes to the Sun City Board for approval.

Further communication will be provided to the community as we work through the process.

Thank you,
Steve Ashlock
