Citizens On Patrol - COPs
- Drive, assist or work from your home -
Next Training Session: Saturday, Sept. 1
Join our team! It takes only 4 hours a month to help keep your community safe. We'll train and outfit you.

Volunteers are needed to:
  • Drive a two-hour patrol twice a month
  • Assist with fueling or washing the cars
  • Work from your own home with a COPs cell phone staffing our "floating office"

COPs provide a presence in Sun City Texas supporting residents' safety and security. We observe and report emergency and non-emergency situations that require a response. The next training session will be held Saturday, Sept. 1, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Click Here to apply.

For information call 512-966-1362 between 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. or contact Larry Swim at 512-981-9332 or email [email protected].

Mulligan’s Update

Construction is nearing completion in the White Wing Clubhouse of the new restaurant, Mulligan’s! It is on track to open its doors in early September.

While everyone is very curious about the new look, we respectfully ask that no one enters the facility until the restaurant doors are open. Final construction is being completed. Entering the facility endangers residents and could damage new equipment, tables tops and interfere with the opening date.

Mulligan’s will be open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, offering breakfast, lunch, appetizers and bar menu items.  Nels, Mario, Rufino and their entire team are thrilled and eager to serve you their exciting menu in a beautiful setting.
Friendly Reminders for our Pedestrians
Submitted by Jim Romine, Executive Director, [email protected]

Walking is one of our favorite pastimes and helps keep us active. While we are a safe community, when walking we need to be defensive and alert, just as we are when driving an automobile. When crossing intersections, remember what we were taught as children: Walk to an intersection, look in all directions and don’t enter until there are no cars coming. Though the law may say that pedestrians have the right-of-way, you cannot depend on that.

It makes more sense for the pedestrian to be the one who takes responsibility, and here is why:
  • No one cares more about the pedestrian’s safety than the pedestrian him/herself.
  • It is much easier for the pedestrian to hear and see a car than for the driver to hear or see a pedestrian.
  • The pedestrian is much less likely to be distracted by GPS, cell phone, radio, etc.
  • The pedestrian can stop and react much more quickly and safely than a car moving 35 mph.
  • The impact of a person’s impaired vision and hearing are not as great when walking as driving.
  • There is confusion for both pedestrians and drivers about what to do when crosswalks have solid white lines, broken lines, or no lines at all.
  • Another thing to remember: Wear bright reflective clothing especially when walking or running during the dusk or dawn hours.
  • If you can walk or run on the sidewalks rather than in the street, please do so.
Decoding Our Acronyms

Where is the the ACA, CS and LHPP? What exactly does SIG and OMATI mean? Was I supposed to meet the WGA at LH or WW?
Sun City Texas often uses abbreviations when referring to rooms, locations and groups. Seasoned residents can get stumped sometimes and the acronym list will grow when The Retreat opens.

Click Here for a list of those acronyms.

Three areas have been identified for artwork. Areas selected for artwork include the City Hall rotunda, the area above the Municipal Court transaction window, and the Council and Court Building lobby wall.
