Drought, Embers and 15 Years of Firewise
Join us as we celebrate 15 years as a Firewise community in GOOD STANDING with Firewise USA!
It recently rained! But the drought and wildfires remain a concern in Central Texas. Embers from a wildfire are the primary cause for home loss to fire.
The Texas A&M Forest Service, Georgetown Fire Department, and Georgetown Emergency Management will provide updates on current conditions and the accompanying risks of fire danger.
The Firewise part of program will focus on the parts of a home that can be vulnerable to embers from a wildfire. We will cover the important landscape maintenance items Sun City residents manage to reduce the potential for embers to ignite their house.
The presenters and the Firewise Group, Emergency Management Committee, COPs (Citizens on Patrol), Property & Grounds Committee, and Wildlife Management Committee will be available before and after the town hall to answer your questions.
