The Board has approved the expansion of the Cowan Creek Pro Shop which will increase the size of the shop from 350 square feet to 678 square feet and provide a small office. Construction will start Monday, May 8, with a six-week build time. The current Pro Shop will remain open during the first two weeks of construction, after which, check-in for golfers will be relocated to the back of the lobby and can be accessed from the back patio area of Cowan Creek for the duration of the build. The main hallway doors will remain open during the construction, however, the circle drive will be closed for the entire time as this area will be used for staging the necessary materials. Friendly Reminders:
Trash Containers & Four-way Stops

Submitted by Jim Romine, Executive Director, [email protected]

Trash Containers:
I recently received a concern from a resident cyclist asking that we remind our community about the rules pertaining to trash containers. Their concern was that too many are being left in the street longer than they should be and for cyclists, this creates a safety issue. Here are our rules on this matter:

Trash Containers and Collection; dumpsters.
No garbage or trash shall be placed or kept on any Lot, except in covered containers of a type, size and style that are approved in accordance with Article V or as required by the applicable governing jurisdiction. Such containers shall be kept inside garages or other structures on Lots except when they are being made available for collection and then only for the shortest time reasonably necessary to effect such collection. Unless there are extenuating reasons otherwise, residential trash containers (i.e., garbage cans) should not be placed at the curb for collection until the evening (preferably after the evening meal) of the night before collection, and should be retrieved as soon as possible after collection. Empty trash containers should not be left outside overnight after pickup, but should be retrieved and returned to inside the garage no later than the evening of the same day the trash was collected. All rubbish, trash, or garbage shall be removed from the Lots and shall not be allowed to accumulate thereon. No outdoor incinerators shall be kept or maintained on any Lot.

An Occupant may not place dumpsters or other large-scale debris collection devices on any street or Common Area. Such items may be placed on a lot to the extent authorized in the Design Guidelines.

Four-way Stops:
A second concern I received recently dealt with four way stops and the request was to remind residents if you arrive at a four way stop at same time as others, the person on right goes first.

imgPrescription Drug
Take-Back Day Results

The Austin area collected 5,325 pounds of prescription drugs on April 29. The Legacy Hills Pavilion location collected 565 pounds. While this total is about 50% less than what we have collected at this site in past years, we know Georgetown residents are taking full advantage of the new MedSafe drop box to deposit their unneeded prescription drugs year-round! The MedSafe drop box located in the Georgetown Police Department building on DB Wood Road was installed last November and since that time 1,112 pounds of drugs have been collected at that site.
