Nominating Committee Applications

Today is the deadline for submitting your application to serve on the Nominating Committee whose purpose is recruiting volunteers for all of the other advisory committees. If you are interested in serving on the Nominating Committee, Click Here to download an online application or pick one up in the Member Services Office.

There is one opening and the deadline to apply is Friday, April 21, at 4 p.m. Applications should be turned in to Katie Newnam at the Member Services Office. The Board of Directors will conduct interviews in the late spring and the term begins in June.

Nine Closed

New Neighbor Round Up

imgHave you moved to Sun City in the past six months? Are you a bit overwhelmed by all there is to do here? Well we have all been there. That is why we created the New Neighbor Round Up.

The Round Up is a Sun City Lifestyle orientation program held every quarter. It consists of short presentations on four important topics, Governance, Community, Activities and Volunteerism. It is presented by the Neighborhood Rep Organization. You will be seated at round tables with other new residents from your neighborhood or a neighborhood close by. You will be given ample time to ask some of those burning questions you have. We invite you to register for the February New Neighbor Round Up.

Join Us for Wildfire Community
Preparedness Day

Friday, May 5 • 8:30 a.m.
Legacy Hills Pavilion

Submitted by the Firewise Group

The Firewise Group, Property & Grounds Committee, and CA Staff are sponsoring the 4th Annual Wildfire Community Preparedness Day on Friday, May 5. Join your Sun City Texas neighbors on this very special day helping make Sun City safer. It will start at the Legacy Hills Pavilion with coffee and donuts at 8:30 a.m. followed by the 9 a.m. safety briefing and work assignments. Groups will fan out to remove small Ashe junipers (cedar) near the Legacy Hills Pavilion.

What to Bring:

  • Closed toe shoes are required
  • Long pants, gloves, and long sleeve shirts are highly recommended.
  • Bring your hand-held pruners and limb loppers with your name clearly marked on them.

We will work from about 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. then gather at the Pavilion for a lunch of brats, hotdogs, chips, and beverages as a reward for you service.

Is your favorite nonprofit organization having a charitable event or fundraiser in June or July? Submit a 75-word paragraph describing the event to Nancy Snow, [email protected] for possible inclusion in the Around Georgetown section of the June Sun Rays. Articles must include the day, date, time of the event and a contact person’s name and email address or phone number. Deadline for submissions is Friday, April 28.

Women’s Fishing Tournament

Open to all women who are residents of SCTX. No fishing license required. Catch and release however, please keep any trout caught for they are cold water fish and will die when our waters turn warm. Equipment and bait provided if needed.
