Smart 911 Program Town HallThursday, February 2 • 9 a.m. Social Center BallroomPresented by the Emergency Management Committee Smart 911 is a service that allows residents to create a free safety profile for their household that includes any information they want first responders to have in the event of an emergency. In the event that this household dials 9-1-1 from a phone associated with their safety profile, their profile is immediately displayed to the 9-1-1 call taker providing additional information that can be used to facilitate the proper response to the proper location.
The keynote speaker will be Chad Berg, Emergency Management Coordinator for the City of Georgetown. While the Smart 911 program has not yet launched, Georgetown is working to integrate the program into its Emergency Services System by early 2017. This program supplements the emergency information stored in the plastic bag in/on your fridge. Please join the EMC to learn more about this new initiative. There will be door prizes! Come early for coffee and donuts. |
