1.  Kids and Golf Carts: With the grandkids visiting this summer, please remember to follow the rules regarding the use of golf carts on public roadways and please remember, safety first. To drive a golf cart on our Sun City Texas streets, you must have a valid driver’s license and must follow the rules of the road. For more information on the Texas Golf Cart laws, please refer to page 24 in the new Resource Guide and Directory or page 19 in the 2015/2016 Resource Guide and Directory. Be safe and let’s have a great summer!

2.  Landscaping Work along Del Webb Blvd: This work continues and please look out for the workers when driving along this section of Del Webb Blvd.

3.  Snakes: When out and about in the community or hiking along one of our nature trails, be aware of your surroundings and where you are walking and know we do have snakes in our community and they are out and about. If you see one, leave it alone and give it space.

New Directories

The new edition of your Sun City Texas Resource Guide & Directory is currently being delivered to Sun City Texas mailboxes through the end of the month. If your neighbor has received their Directory and you have not yet received yours, please wait until the first week in July before checking with the Communications Office for a copy. The books are barcoded and scanned to confirm delivery. The post office delivers a set number to each postal route per day and they still have several more days to go so we thank you for your patience!

Away for the summer? Please Click Here to find out if your Directory was forwarded to your summer address. Coming soon will be details about how to dispose of your old Directory.

Disposal of
Old Directories

A secure book drop bin will be placed in the Social Center parking lot at the end of next week. This will allow residents to deposit their old directory at their convenience (and the CA will still shred for your privacy). We will send an update and photo of the location in next Friday’s CA Communicator.

Pass It On: Call for Submissions

Grandparents are a treasure trove of knowledge, filled with a lifetime’s worth of experiences and abilities to be shared with their grandchildren. In honor of Grandparents’ Day, Sun Rays wants to know: what have you taught your grandchildren? If you aren’t a grandparent yet, what lessons do you hope to impart on your future grandkids? Whether it’s a shared hobby, a well-honed skill, a family legend or a personal value, tell us in 300 words or less for possible publication in the September issue of Sun Rays. Photographs are highly encouraged!

Submissions must be received by Friday, July 29, so don’t delay! Send your story to [email protected] today!

June Watering

Submitted by Carlton Mathis, Common Area & Irrigation Superintendent, 512-948-7792, [email protected]

♬ Summertime summertime, sum sum summertime ♬ My recommendation for watering continues to be 2 days per week, and a 100% water budget/seasonal adjust. Weather forecasters are perpetually suggesting the potential of a rain event, the most recent being for this Saturday afternoon. Keep an eye on the skies, and be ready to turn controllers to off if it becomes a gully washer.

The Water Matters Team is available to help familiarize you with your irrigation system. If you need help setting up your controller, or would like a complete and thorough evaluation of your irrigation system, send an email to [email protected] , or contact your Neighborhood Representative. A Water Matters Ambassador will come to your home to assist you.
