Vet/Am Golf Tournament

On Thursday, June 2, Sun City
Texas will host 108 Fort Hood soldiers for the "Thanks to the Troops" Vet/Am Golf Tournament at White Wing
Golf Course. This is a great opportunity to personally thank our Fort Hood warriors for their service and for protecting our proud country. There are several opportunities to help.

Volunteer Meeting Today!
We need volunteers to help with various venues. There will be a meeting in the Cowan Creek Walburg Room today, Friday, March 11, at 2 p.m. for those interested in helping make this event a success!

Sponsor a Soldier
There will be opportunities to sponsor a soldier, a team of soldiers, or a hole. All contributions are tax-deductible. Sponsorships provide prizes for all the soldiers, their greens fees, cart rentals, and their dinners. Sponsorship information is on the registration forms available at the golf shops.

Register to Play
Registration forms can be found at any Sun City Texas golf shop and can be returned to any of the golf shops.

On Monday, March 14, The Legacy Hills Golf Course will be hosting an open house for all Sun City residents. This is a great opportunity for golfers and non-golfers to tour the beautiful Legacy Hills Golf Course! The event will be held from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. Carts will be provided as needed and the golf course staff will be available to help answer any and all questions. We look forward to seeing everyone!

Pre-Qualified Candidates!

Filing Period: March 14 - 31

It’s that time of year again when we prepare for a Resident Director Election. Candidate Application Packets are now available at the CA Member Services Office and on the Elections Committee website for those interested in running of for the Board of Directors. Any resident may campaign to be elected to the Board of Directors, the CA asks for all Candidates (both Qualified and Non-Qualified) to fill out a two-page application and return to Katie Sutton through the Member Services Office during the filing period.

Qualified candidates must be a member-in-good-standing throughout the campaign period, and will receive CA sponsored campaign assistance and also be eligible for any campaign expense reimbursements. If you are interested in campaigning to serve on the Board of Directors but do not wish to complete the qualification process, when you complete the Application, be sure to check the “Non-Qualified” box. Non-Qualified candidates will be listed on the ballot, but will not receive CA sponsored campaign assistance, nor be eligible for any campaign expense reimbursements.

The filing period begins on Monday, March 14, and runs through Thursday, March 31, 2016 (by 4 p.m.). This year’s election will be for two open seats on the Board of Directors. Directors Glandt and Sandercock are completing their terms and are eligible to run for another term. The Elections Committee will provide further details to the community after the filing period ends.

Wildlife Committee Town Hall

With a special emphasis on our
whitetail deer management program

Monday, April 4 • 9:30 a.m.
Social Center Ballroom

The Sun City Texas Wildlife Management Committee will host a Town Hall to discuss wildlife management within our community on Monday, April 4, at 9:30 a.m. Topics will include the management of deer, vultures and other wildlife issues and focus on how the Committee seeks to maintain a healthy balance between human and wildlife populations that exist here. Warren Bluntzer, wildlife biologist, will discuss the deer management program and efforts to control other wildlife. Paul Ohlenbusch, vegetation management advisor, will be on hand to explain vegetation clearing for fire and flood control purposes. Attendees at the meeting are welcome to ask questions regarding wildlife management issues within Sun City Texas.

  • Please be careful at the Williams Drive/ Del Webb Blvd. intersection as it has been reported a few times that not all vehicles travelling on Williams Drive stop when the light turns red. Proceed with caution onto Williams once you have a green light.
  • Golf Cart respect: We live in a golf cart community. Please have respect for those who are driving their golf carts on our roadways and let’s all help to avoid another golf cart accident in our wonderful community. Golf cart drivers, please have respect as well for the automobiles and stay in the right lane when possible.

Updates to Your CA LMH and
Common Area Landscaping Contacts

CA Management has restructured the Landscape Maintained Homes (LMH) and Common Area Landscape responsibilities . Effective immediately, Catrin Dubois, [email protected], will now solely oversee the entire LMH Program as the LMH Superintendent, and she will remain the LMH Committee staff liaison.

Advisory Committee

Sun City Advisory Committees make your community great in so many ways because of residents involved. The deadline to apply is today, March 11 by 4:00 PM at the Member Services Office or online. Applicants will meet with the Nominating Committee the week of April 11 – 15.

Submit your application online OR obtain an application at the Monitor Desks and at Sun City building lobbies.

Both the Elections and Modifications Committees are still in need of applicants.

Street Sealant Updates

The City's street sealant work continues in Sun City. Weather delays and equipment issues can impact the sealant schedule on a day-today basis. The best way to stay on top of this on-going project and find out if your street is scheduled is to go to the City of Georgetown's website (it's a good site to bookmark!), then look for the "Street Sealant Work in Sun City" article on their home page.
