The Board and a resident audience heard reports from the Executive Director, Jim Romine, regarding updates since the last quarterly Board Meeting including current activities in various departments. Board secretary, Gary Preston, reviewed and acknowledged the unanimous consent items approved by the Board since the May 2015 Meeting. The Board recognized the various Committee reports submitted and thanked the volunteers for all their efforts. Representatives from Communications, Finance and Landscaped Maintained Homes Committees reviewed their quarterly Board reports with the membership. __________ CA Financials Financials as of May 31, 2015 » Financials as of June 30, 2015 » Financials as of July 31, 2015 »
The Community Association's Financials for May, June and July 2015 were presented by Ann Dodson, Director of Finance. HOA revenue of $819,671 was reported for the month of July compared to the budgeted amount of $800,407. Home closings for the month were 18 on a budget of 25. The Golf revenue was $369,362 compared to the budgeted amount of $380,205. Golf expenses were $431,697 compared to budgeted expenses of $470,326. Overall, the CA ended the month with a deficit of $64,731 on a budgeted deficit of $138,188 for a favorable variance of $73,457. The Board unanimously approved the financial statements as presented. __________ Federal and State Tax ReturnsStaff presented the Board with an update on the 2014 Federal and State tax returns for the Community Association. The tax returns were filed earlier this summer and the Board voted unanimously to ratify the returns. __________ Privacy Policy View private policy »
The Communications Committee presented the Board with proposed amendments to the Privacy Policy. The policy was scheduled for review based upon the CA’s policy review schedule. Amendments are related to storing confidential personal information on the CA’s website, tracking usage, new language on social media and new language that was previously in the Survey Policy that is now obsolete. The changes were reviewed and/or approved by the Communications Committee, CA staff and the CA attorney. The Board was presented with amendments to the Golf Committee Charter, as presented by the Golf Committee. Currently the Chartered Clubs related to Golf select representatives to the Golf Committee within their Chartered Club. Proposed changes to the Golf Charter recommend that the Chartered Club representatives would go through the Nominating Committee process just as the other Golf Committee members. Other proposed charter amendments state that the Golf Committee chair cannot concurrently be a President of one of the Golf related Chartered Clubs. The Neighborhood Rep Organization (NRO) recommended changes to their organization’s Bylaws. New language in the Bylaws refers to new programs such as the New Neighborhood Welcome Program and the New Neighborhood Round-Up Program. The updated Bylaws recommend an increase in NRO board members by appointment to help manage the new programs and provide additional leadership to the NRO. Further, the previous NRO Chair shall remain on NRO Board after their term is up as an ex-officio for continuity and assistance. The Board voted unanimously to approve the amendments to the NRO Bylaws.
