Submitted by David Hahn, Director of Facilities Maintenance
The Developer has closed the construction haul road due to
it being washed out by the floods over the weekend. All construction
traffic will now come in off Ronald Reagan and turn down Cool Spring to
Pedernales. This situation will stay in effect until Rocky Hollow is
opened sometime in August or September. This may cause some
inconvenience to residents, so please be patient while the Developer
finishes our newest point of entry and exit to and from Sun City.
Road Work Update Last week we sent out a special CA Communicator outlining some road work that will be done in our area. As indicated, the schedule can change based on weather conditions and due to recent rains. The asphalt rejuvenation start date has been moved to the first week in June. Additionally, as indicated above, construction traffic will temporarily use Sun City Blvd to access Cool Spring Way. As a result, the City will not begin the asphalt rejuvenation on streets off Cool Spring Way and Sun City Blvd north of Cool Spring Way until the new Rocky Hollow route is open and construction traffic rerouted.

Native Area Mowing BeginsSubmitted by Carlton Mathis, Water Manager, [email protected], 512-948-7792
Mowing for fire breaks (officially called Level 3 Maintenance) will begin in Sun City Texas on June 1. All native areas of the entire campus will be mowed and it may take until September to complete. The wet weather and the abundance of tall grasses may slow down the process, as well as having taken over additional property from the developer.
This is only the second year that Sun City has undertaken this huge job, but the most asked question last year was, “When will you get to my neighborhood?” To answer that, our campus has been divided into three sections. Mowing will begin in Neighborhood 53.

always, we advise residents to leave fawns alone. Often fawns appear
"orphaned," when in fact they are fine and have been hidden by their
mothers. Fawning season lasts about two to three weeks, so let them be
unless you feel it is an emergency for the fawn. |
