Sandy Goodman
Good for Sun City Texas

[email protected]

Mike and I have been permanent residents of Sun City Texas since 2006 and homeowners since 1999.

I have spent many years living all over the world, following my husband on international construction projects. During these years, I served on several boards of international organizations which helped expatriates adjust to new cultures while serving the local communities by fundraising. Because I have experienced these many cultures as a resident, I believe I have an understanding of people and how they function in everyday life. I have also learned that there is more than one way of looking at a problem to find a solution, sometimes even in different languages.

Here in Sun City Texas I am an active tennis player and occasional golfer. I also enjoy playing bridge which keeps my brain moving. I am a member of several charter clubs and have been an officer of the Foreign Language Club, Zoomers, and the Tennis Association. I am now into my 5th year as the President of Zoomers, and I am returning to serve the Tennis Association as Secretary.

It has been such a privilege to serve our community as a member of the CA Nominating Committee. I am now in my 4th year, and I have enjoyed the opportunity to meet so many outstanding residents of this community who apply for the CA advisory committees. My time on the Nominating Committee has given me a picture of the inner workings of this community. I have an understanding of how our community functions and the interaction of these advisory committees with the residents, the board, and the CA staff. I also serve our local community as a member of the Assistance League of the Georgetown Area.

This is such a wonderful place to live and it is my desire to serve as a resident director to continue efforts to keep Sun City Texas the outstanding community it is.

SANDY HAS PROVIDED DEDICATED AND DEPENDABLE
SERVICE TO SUN CITY TEXAS:

  • CURRENT PRESIDENT - ZOOMERS (5th YEAR)
  • CURRENT SECRETARY - SCTX TENNIS ASSOCIATION
  • CURRENT MEMBER OF CA NOMINATING COMMITTEE (4th YEAR)
  • PAST OFFICER OF FOREIGN LANGUAGE CLUB, ZOOMERS, AND SUN
    CITY TEXAS TENNIS ASSOCIATION
  • ACTIVE MEMBER OF ZOOMERS, COUNTRY WESTERN DANCE CLUB,
FOREIGN LANGUAGE CLUB AND SCTX TENNIS ASSOCIATION
  • GEORGETOWN COMMUNITY SERVICE - ASSISTANCE LEAGUE

Re-Elect
Gary Preston

Dear Neighbors,

Betty Ann and I first drove into Sun City in 2004 and I think we fell in love with it while driving up Del Webb Blvd. before we even hit Sun City Blvd! We came to make this our home one year later. Clearly this community is more than just a pretty face, it’s a giving community built around a wonderful lifestyle! I am running for the Board because I want to give back to the community as well as protect our lifestyle for all of us.

I believe in:

  • Open Communications – I will continue to publish my newsletters reporting decisions and current developments
  • Fiscal Responsibility – Prudent use of reserves, sustainability
  • Our Quality of life – Adequate space for functions, meetings, amenities from fitness to golf

Experience Matters:

  • Currently Resident Board Member, seeking second term.
  • Property and Grounds Committee – chaired Oak’s Subcommittee, Liaison to several committees.
  • NRO – Served as Rep and Alternate, also on initial New Neighbor Welcome Program Subcommittee.
  • Neighborhood 27 – Firewise Evaluator, Adopt-a-Hole Coordinator, Water, Golf and New Neighbor Ambassador.
  • Graduate Georgetown Police Academy, Volunteer Park Ranger, Meals on Wheels and dialysis shuttle volunteer.
  • Last 30 years of professional career focused on Senior Management positions in the Information Technology Consulting industry. Positions requiring skills in communicating with, managing and directing large staffs and budgets, negotiation and customer relations skills as well as being a problem solver.

My commitment to you is that I will press for:

  • Work to establish a long term, strategic plan for Sun City Texas of tomorrow.
  • Strive to integrate our SCTX of tomorrow needs into our long term financial plans.
  • Adequate, high quality amenities.
  • A working relationship with our developer.
  • Clear, open communications with all residents.
