SHRED DAY IS TOMORROW!

Shred Day
Tuesday, April 28 • 8 a.m. – noon
Social Center Parking Lot AND
Cowan Creek Amenity Center Parking Lot

Again this year, we will have two shred locations: one truck will be located in the Social Center parking lot and the second truck will be available at the Cowan Creek Amenity Center parking lot. To use the Texas Drive location, please enter on Sun City Blvd, near the pickleball courts. To use the Cowan Creek location, please enter using the far entrance near the Pavilion.

For your convenience, you can stay in your car (or golf cart), and volunteers will be available to unload your items to be shred. Residents must take their plastic bags and boxes back with them, as we do not dispose of those. If you bring your materials in paper bags, those can go through the shredder and we’ll be happy to shred those for you.

This is a free service for all residents and available for residents only. Hours are 8 a.m. to Noon OR until the truck fills. (The following information can also be found on page 11 of your April Sun Rays magazine.)

What you CAN shred:

  • Paper (personal documents, bank statements, old bills, etc.)
  • You do not have to remove staples, paper clips or binder clips

What you CANNOT shred:

  • No phone books (commercial or residential) * Remember, keep your current Sun City Texas Directory and exchange it for the NEW Directory in June so that the CA can securely dispose of it, protecting your personal contact information.
  • No CDs or other media, cardboard or plastic, etc.
  • No magazines/junk mail. If you wish, you may tear off the cover with your name and address to include in your shredding stack, but throw the magazine in your recycle bin to be picked up on your curb on the normally scheduled date.
  • NOTE: This is NOT recycling, this is shredding. Please reserve this service for those items that have proprietary information on them (i.e. bank statements, old bills, etc.).

How much can you shred?

  • No more than 6 bags/boxes. (No trailer or truck loads!)
