| | Shred Day is Next Week!
Tuesday, April 28 8 a.m. to noonSocial Center Parking Lot AND Cowan Creek Amenity Center Parking Lot The
Community-wide Shred Day happens next Tuesday, April 28! Again this
year, we will have two shred locations: one truck will be located in the
Social Center parking lot and the second truck will be available at the
Cowan Creek Amenity Center parking lot. To use the Texas Drive
location, please enter on Sun City Blvd, near the pickleball courts. To
use the Cowan Creek location, please enter using the far entrance near
the Pavilion.
For your convenience, you can stay in your car (or
golf cart), and volunteers will be available to unload your items to be
shred. Residents must take their bags and boxes back with them, as we
do not dispose of those. If you bring your materials in paper bags,
those can go through the shredder and we’ll be happy to shred those for
you.
This is a free service for all residents and available for
residents only. For details about what you can and cannot shred, see
page 11 of the April issue of Sun Rays.

Water Does MatterSubmitted by Carlton M. Mathis, Water Manager We’ve had a fairly bountiful amount of rainfall this Spring, but temperatures are starting to climb again and rain totals are going to become less abundant. I have been able to refrain from irrigating for nearly seven months due to the cooler, wetter weather. Irrigation systems should be set to one day per week; or two days per week at 50% water. Rain Sensors should be set to no more than a quarter inch. I prefer an eighth of an inch, as the dry out time is quicker. Systems with a properly calibrated Soil Moisture Sensor should have their Rain Sensors wired in series for maximum water savings.
If you need help learning how to set up your controller, please contact your Neighborhood Representative to request a visit from a Water Ambassador or Water Matters team member.
