Vote Online for Sun City Firewise Grant

Submitted by the Sun City Firewise Group

HELP!!!! We are in 6th place in the voting! Sun City Firewise has entered a competition to receive a $500 grant offered by Firewise USA and State Farm Insurance. This award will be used to support our Wildfire Preparedness Day on May 2.

Vote and vote often! Go to the National Wildfire Community Preparedness Day 2015 website (click here). Scroll down to the green box and click on the "Vote Now!" button. You will see 16 boxes (our goal is to move to the first box). Look for "Sun City Texas Community…" in one of those boxes. If you don't see it, go to the next page. When you find the box, click on it. Then click the ‘Vote” button at the bottom.

To vote again, repeat this process. (It's okay to vote many times, that's how these things work!).

Resident Director Applications
Filing Period March 16 - 31

It’s that time of year again when we prepare for a Resident Director Election. Pre-Qualified Candidate Application Packets will be available at the CA Front Desk and on the Elections Committee website on March 2 for those interested. While any resident may campaign to be elected to the Board of Directors, the CA asks for Pre-Qualified Candidates to fill out a two page application and be in good standing with the CA.

To receive pre-approval from the Elections Committee, applications must be turned in to the CA Front Desk, attention Katie Sutton, by 4 p.m. during the filing period which begins on March 16 and runs through March 31, 2015. Approved candidates will have their names placed on the official voting ballot and receive numerous CA sponsored campaign tools.

This year’s election will be for two open seats on the Board of Directors. Directors Hatley and Preston are completing their terms and are eligible to run for another term. The Elections Committee will provide further details to the community after the filing period ends.
