Summary
Dennis Wilson
Up to now, I have presented myself as a passionate, active community leader—one who has spent 10 years in a neighborhood or community leadership role. I must tell you I have enjoyed every minute of it.
My time spent in the NRO helping guide neighborhoods young and old, working with dedicated volunteers to develop community-wide programs, like Water Matters, New Neighbor Round-Up. All my efforts have been focused on keeping Sun City Texas, a vibrant, active, inclusive, well-run community for everyone. I plan to continue to support the advisory committees, social and recreational clubs, and the NRO, all of which make Sun City Texas the best place to live, work, and play. I will also continue to reach out and welcome our new residents and neighbors. They deserve the same warm, inclusive welcome that we had when we moved here. We are a COMMUNITY, not a housing development. I will continue to promote that fact and make sure residents understand the importance of it.
Let’s not forget, it’s the people who make this community a great place to live, work and play. People of different ages, ethnic backgrounds, careers, interests, needs, and wants. Those of us who take on any community leadership role need to always keep that in mind. We need to promote new energy, new ideas, and new involvement. That will keep Sun City Texas the premier Active Adult Community and a place where folks want to move to now, and in the future.
Please vote starting August 4th to Re-Elect Dennis Wilson, CA Board of Directors,
Thanks for your support.

Can We Do Better?
COPS PROGRAM: I believe there may be an opportunity in examining the COPS program for a different and more meaningful application of the dedicated and unselfish service of the many COPS volunteers. I believe the training they are given through the Georgetown Citizen Police Academy equips them for a more purposeful contribution than they are presently designed to do, or may be limited to. This is an area of interest to me, and if elected I plan to draw attention to a review and re-deployment of this impressive Sun City attribute, funded and operated in the best of faith. Over thirty-seven miles of roads connecting a large and vibrant community patrolled constantly by dedicated volunteers seems to warrant more support, and better utilization.
This would complement the increased accountability of persons entering or exiting our community through closed circuit web based video monitoring of vehicles.
COMPLIANCE: Many of our strongest and best assets in Sun City hinge on the continuity of present levels of harmony, quality of neighborhoods, resident activities and recreational facilities. I commit to a good faith support of the encouragement of compliance to the excellent standards and guidelines for these facilities through polite and non-threatening communications and enforcement of guidelines we all depend on for the protection of the values of our homes, and quality of life.

It was “love at first sight” for me and my husband, Al, when we drove into Sun City December 2006. We moved in February 2007 and I set out to get involved in both Sun City and Georgetown.
What sets me apart from other candidates is my many years of volunteering and involvement in community affairs.
In Sun City I served on Communications Committee for 2 years where I learned about numerous and varied methods used to keep residents informed. I moved on to Nominating Committee for 4 years where I met many current members and applicants of SCTx committees. I am currently serving my 4th year on Modifications Committee where I work with Community Standards staff and ensure applicants follow the “rules” that keep our community so beautiful. I attended meetings for Finance, Wildlife, Emergency Management as a liaison and served as NRO
representative for 2 years. Because of this experience, I know what makes the CA run and have worked with many staff members and current and past committee members.
In Georgetown I served on the board for Assistance League as Treasurer for 3 years
and was appointed to AL National Finance Committee. I negotiated a favorable lease
contract for the current location and designed and supervised the renovation. I am
currently Treasurer on the board for Central Texas Philharmonic. I review the financials of SCTx and stay informed of Board actions, and I am not afraid to ask questions and address difficult issues. I am prepared to lead Sun City Texas as we approach transition and full buildout. My extensive background in business and volunteering along with degrees in Accounting and Organizational Behavior make me the best candidate for the Board.
