 COVID-19 Case
Aug. 17, 2020
Submitted by the Sun City Texas Community Association

A positive case of COVID-19 was reported to human resources on Monday, August 17 by a Sun City Texas Community Association contract housekeeper employee. The contract employee's name may not be disclosed due to HIPPA requirements, but the contract employee works in all buildings and all three fitness centers. The housekeeper was last in facilities on August 7. If you spent more than 15 minutes while six-foot in distance from a department employee during that time frame and you are experiencing any symptoms, please seek medical attention and follow the physician’s direction. If you have any specific concerns, please contact a medical professional.

The health and safety of our community is our highest priority.

Avoid Close Contact
The best way to avoid the virus is to avoid being exposed. Keep six-foot physical distancing at all outdoor activities including pools and golf courses. Put distance between yourself and people outside your home. Keeping a six-foot distance from others is especially important for people who are at higher risk of getting very sick. Keep yourself safe when receiving visitors. A cloth face mask is not a substitute for six-foot physical distancing.

Williamson County to Host Free COVID-19 Testing in Georgetown
Williamson County Office of Emergency Management, in partnership with the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) and in coordination with the City of Georgetown, will be hosting free COVID-19 testing August 18, 19 and 20.

Testing will be conducted at the Georgetown Community Center located at 445 E. Morrow St., Georgetown, TX 78626. Testing will go from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will remain operational until supplies last.

This is a walk-up site and will not require an appointment prior to being tested. People interested in getting tested will be asked to park and line up for their turn. It is important to note that this is a cheek swab test, so people cannot eat, drink or use tobacco products 20 minutes prior to the test. Please bring a cell phone for on-site registration. Also, please be aware that due to demand there may be a wait time. Bring items as a form of shade to cover from the sun such as a hat or umbrella.

COVID-19 testing at this site is available for all Texans, whether they are Williamson County residents or not. For more information on this, and future testing sites, please visitwww.wilco.org.
