Ballroom A/C Maintenance Next TuesdayOn
Tuesday, March 21, the CA will replace four A/C units in the
Social Center Ballroom. To reach the rooftop units, a crane will be set
up in the back parking lot, so please avoid parking in that area. The work will begin at 8 a.m. and potentially last until dark. The roof will be accessed through the America room.
The
units being replaced will, of course, be offline that day. The
thermostats on the other units in the Ballroom will be adjusted accordingly to compensate. ____________________________________________
Welcome Station Needs VolunteersThe Welcome Station is the small building at the entrance to Sun City Texas on Del Webb Blvd. It needs volunteers to: - Greet first time visitors
- Give directions to visitors, contractors, and others
- Provide a presence at the main entry point to the community
You
must know directions around Sun City and be able to offer customer
service. The Welcome Station is covered Monday - Saturday by two shifts:
9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. & 12:30 - 4 p.m.; and on Sundays by one shift:
12:30 - 4 p.m. Working one or two shifts per month would be greatly
appreciated!
This is a comfortable volunteer job working inside
(with A/C and heat) usually with time to read or sew. No experience is
necessary.
If interested, please stop by the Station and fill out an application or call John Barnett at 512-863-0461. ____________________________________________ Would You Like to Show Off Your Pond? In

Sun Rays magazine is looking for motivated volunteer writers and photographers to contribute to our monthly magazine.
PHOTOGRAPHERS: As a Sun Rays photographer, you’ll shoot community activities, collaborate with writers on feature photography and capture Sun City’s largest events. Because each photographer is unique, we encourage photo volunteers to stay true to their creative vision. Photographers receive full credit and retain all rights to their work.
WRITERS: Our writers work with Sun Rays editors to plan and produce mid- to feature-length articles based on a monthly schedule. Writers are encouraged to pitch ideas and keep an ear out for any interesting topics. Though volunteers are welcome to write in their own style, they should have a solid command of the English language. All writers receive credit and recognition for their contributions. ALL volunteers should be able to work independently and adhere to deadlines.
If you enjoy meeting interesting people, peeking behind the scenes and seeing your work in print, contact us today!
As Sun City’s most relied-upon communications resource, Sun Rays offers community information, event details and features on travel, local history and life experiences. If interested [email protected]. ____________________________________________
March WateringSubmitted by Carlton Mathis, Common Area & Irrigation Superintendent, [email protected]
Thanks to all the aspiring Water Ambassadors who attended last week’s Water Matters Town Hall, and special thanks to all the Water Matters team members who helped put it together. To date, I think it was our best one. If you missed it, Click Here to view the recording on the website.
Last weekend we adjusted our clocks for Daylight Saving Time. Be sure to also check your controller’s clock and adjust as necessary.
The weather has returned to an almost seasonally-appropriate trend. The rain cycles have been regular enough for me that I am continuing to leave the irrigation in the common areas off. If you choose to water, my recommendation for watering would be no more than two days per week, and no more than a 25% water budget/seasonal adjust. However, weather forecasters are suggesting the possible return of rain next week, so be ready to turn those controllers off.
The Water Matters Team is available to help familiarize you with your irrigation system, set up your controller or provide a complete and thorough evaluation of your irrigation system. Email [email protected] to place your request and a Water Matters Ambassador will come to your home to assist you.
